I agree we really need to see the other side of the wheel. They do look straight, but then I look at that tin beauty center cap and think there's no way thats intended to ride on a centering ring/hub.

Are the bottom of those stud holes beveled? Looks like the lug nuts are recessed pretty well.

Sure looks like the wheels are designed for a stepped lugnut with a washer to me

Yup. Those wheels need washers. And what type of lug nuts are being used?

A stepped lug with a washer doesnt seem like it'd fit well with the curved wheel surface. It'd have to be a very small washer.

I tried looking up the wheels. I believe they're American Racing Outlaw I or II. Summit racing lists the lug nut style as a 60 degree conical style.

Take the lugnuts off and see if the wheel has a taper
If it does, you're okay

your taper seats show evidence of damage, makes sense if the lug nuts were incredibly lose. The proper "fix" I believe the OEMs would say prob for liability and the fact they have mountains of parts: replace the wheels affected

However, I wouldnt go that far, studs and lugnuts at most and clean up those taper seats with a.. im not sure
I would first point out the issue could originally have been because the wrong taper lugnut was used
