Fuel Pump Noise
Got a 2002 F-250 CCLB 4WD 5.4L 2V 238,000 miles and have had this issue for years, been unable to track down. The sound is a low hum, like a morning dove. It only is apparent when gas is applied, take gas off sound goes away. To me, sounds like a pump in action. Can it be the fuel pump at the gas tank?

I certainly notice it when I give it gas and at 22 yrs old you would think I would have gotten used to it. So is it the sending unit at the tank or other?? I have driven this truck with the tank less than half most of its life and just recently changed the fuel filter. She was D-I-R-T-Y....
