Electric fuel pump
I have a 93 Bronco with a electric fuel pump. I am getting a loud humming sound coming from the gas tank. It seems to get louder when the tank is full. Does this mean that the fuel pump is going bad? I already changed the fuel filter to see if this would help, but it did not.

The pump should whine just a bit all the time. Some people consider the sound to be louder than they expect it to be. Others have always heard it but never worried since nothing went wrong. Some swear that excessive noise fromt he pump indicates premature failure. Personally I've always noticed the whine even with the truck running and I've never had to replace a pump. They do make a cerain amount of noise and being louder with a full tank makes sense since the vibration has all that fluid to rattle around in. My montra has always been if its not broken, don't fix it...unless you can improve it!

mine whin's like a dog in heat!! but it has yet to go out????/ in my f-150 it was whinning si i replaced it and than my friend need it it for an emergancy " the old whiny pump" so i gave it to him.. it is still going strong, and my new pump has aready gone out and been replaced????????????
