LATER AXLES
On my 1962 f250 4X4 what if any later axles will bolt in my Dana 60 rear and Dana 44 front axles with 4:56 gears with the proper spline count to use lockers or limited slips in both axles
No one makes them for these low spline count axles anymore......Bob

So from the little research I have done I’ve found that the rear axle should be fairly easily converted to 30 spline. I have not verified this info but if you swap the axle shaft from a newer axle as well as the side gears in the differential gears. You just verify the length is good on the shafts and they should work theoretically.
Again I have not verified this to be true. Look on the 4x4 forums a lot of Jeep guys are running the converted older Dana 60s
