Does anyone know the part number for the brown/yellow starter wire that connects the starter up to the connection up along the passenger side front fender? I can't find it online. I am only looking to replace it because the metal on the starter end is very brittle. I was also thinking of just splicing in a new connection on that end. Not sure what gauge wire it is off the top of my head. Has anyone done this? Thanks!
Are you talking about the signal wire for the starter? A smallish awg wire that connects to the solenoid of the starter with a flat spade type connector? If so I think most folks just make a new one themselves with crimp and solder connectors and wire.

Thanks that is likely what I'll do. the connector end is torn but still able to be secured behind the small bolt i have that threads through a post on the starter. I don't want to leave it like that for too long though.
Given the age of our trucks, you are probably better off taking the time to replace the entire wire. Also check the contacts of the ignition switch under the steering column.
I would just Crimp a new end on if it were me. If the rest of the wire is in good shape.

Would you 2 make up my mind already? One says crimp an end, the other says replace it all. Now I'm just confused and torn. Maybe I should just go buy a Dodge. I need more exercise anyway, the walking will do me good.

Notice I said if wire was in good shape. lol guess it really depends on where you at in the country. Around me wiring generally doesn't go bad over time.
