When I bought it, yellow was the only one there, worked great tho, except at the bottom of the drivers rear door, it's supposed to have a screw to secure it, replacements don't, had issues with it staying in place, put a piece of steel in it and threaded a screw in it to secure it like the factory gasket. Be careful adjusting the door hinges, you don't want to strip the threads from them, after new gaskets I wanted to line the doors with the body, striped one bolt.

I didn't splice the fusible link part, but the wire that is connected to it. Hope that makes sense.

Ooh, this is good to know! The rear doors are totally out of whack, previous owner had a spare tire on the right door and it's annoying. When you adjust the hinge, do you just tighten/loosen the bolts to the hinge?

I have an important question - where the hell does the reverse switch go into the transmission on the 3 on the floor + OD? I can't find one and I'm suspecting someone just put a bolt in it I figured I'd post my question up top, but please continue reading if you want to see how things are coming along! If you have specific and pointed questions I'd be MORE than happy to respond!

Oh, regarding the time I post - I work third shift but live in CST. I apologize if my replies come at weird times, I promise I'm real!

Things are coming along slowly but since life has been going at 100MPH it's okay that small things have been happening with the truck.

Accomplished: New relays for the turn signal and hazards. Both blink at the same speed, make the same noise. I'm happy.

All lights working except dash (new rheostat included) so scratching my head at that, putting a pin in it.

I installed a relay or modular box so I have intermittent wipers. Sweet.

I finished the destruction of what someone tried to build as a camper and found some secrets. I've decided to buy a welder, find some 16/18ga and start to weld things until I feel comfortable enough to do so on the truck. Wish me luck!

Reverse lights aren't working - I bought a switch, it looks like this: https://shop.broncograveyard.com/4-S...uctinfo/21015/

I have no idea where it goes because I don't see an existing switch in the 4 speed. When tracing the wire from the back I did find a connector that looked like it would go into that switch, I guess throwing a continuity switch at it and seeing what I get then throwing voltage... we'll see if I blow a fuse. I also bought a bunch of fuses.

I bought all the parts I need to have vents pointed at me and a new heater control so I'm happy about that. Wipers are working. New motor is on its way. I have a new motor for the wiper fluid as both sound... not so great.

I installed new moleskin or whatever it's called for the inner glass on the front doors. Much better. Less shaking.

All the bushings under the vehicle look like absolute garbage. This is definitely going to need to be addressed, just taking on thing at a time.

I replaced the side parking markers and got the lights to work as well as the license plate lights to work but am having trouble finding a new license plate bulb holder. Oh well. Maybe one will pop up, maybe I'll 3D print one. The bulbs do actually work though!

Speaking of replacing the markers, I replaced the front turn signal so now both are yellow which made me feel so much better. The new markers look great and even though there is so much wrong with the truck it makes me feel better knowing these parts look better... also, all the gaskets on this truck are absolutely toast. I'm waiting on one more gasket, and trying to find the little tiny plastic nuts that pop into the holes.

I think next is the turn signal switch, remove the old adhesive from the old weatherstripping and install that, and replace the wiper motor and windshield wiper fluid motor when I get the chance along with the wiper fluid lines. They look like they're going to crack...

After I get those things working I think I need a new e-brake foot pedal as it's not clicking and I really want an e-brake working. After that I think I'm going to find an exhaust manifold from an EFI model (any particular one that you or anyone suggests? What about gasket? My guess is get the EFI one) and run dual exhausts to open her up. I'm definitely debating replacing the intake manifold at the same time, thinking about an EFI swap but I think I'll pump the brakes on that and just get it running without sucking in gas fumes in the cabin. The dog house already seals like **** so that'll be fun.

A lot of reading to do, but as for your Reverse switch.....Did you check the shift tower? You might not won't have one on it if that was originally a 3sp on the tree. If it's on the shift tower, you'll have to pull the boot to get at it if I'm not mistaken, but I'm taking my recollection from an F150 not a van.

No, I haven't checked. It's an E150, the transmission is a RUG based on pictures I've found. I'll check around the shift tower (boot? like by the floor? I lifted the boot up, the shift boot is torn anyway, I need one that's not because those fumes... ultimately replacing the exhaust manifold and re-doing the exhaust is the solution to that but one thing at a time.

I replaced the lines for the washer fluid? Man, everything I replace on that truck just crumbles to dust. Thanks Ford for having a tee that shrinks the line to the wipers. A simple zip tie was the solution (no leaks) but damn annoying!

@Mike1 Oh man, thank you so much. I guess my question now is - it looks as if the switch is a trigger as opposed to this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/294538165970 (which I bought, if it's way off base it's going back).

I'll take a look when I get in this morning. Based off that picture I should be able to remove the shift boot and get in there (it's already removed, it's torn, I need a new one of those too, haha)

Thank you again!!

That picture may not be your exact trans tower, but it give you an idea of where it could be.
It could also be be one of these although these are older transmissions also.....

On my 69 Mustang RUG the switch is on the trans like the above post mentions
Others were on the 4 speed shifter linkage

so it looks like this:

Tried to take this with reverse partly disengaged to show the linkage that points to the vacant hole

See the hole in the lower left corner? When I shift it in reverse, the linkage lines up like a switch would go there… hmm! Except.. no wires to be found

any ideas of what part I need? At this point getting a switch in place wouldn’t be that hard, and I guess I could just run wire from the fuse panel because there is absolutely zero electrical except one mystery connector tucked away in the frame. Thoughts? Comments? My goal is to put a 5MODR2 (not really going to haul or van life this, my father owned a truck just like this and it’s a nostalgic smiles per gallon project)

I didn’t find anything regarding electrical connections just the hole and I’m making the assumption it’s a manual switch that engages when the trans is in reverse. Any ideas? Any idea on part number? For power I figure I’m going to run wire from the fuse panel (i guess? The only wiring I can find is the mystery 2 prong plug that is sitting in the frame coiled up nicely)

OK after a full can of Brakekleen and a cleaning brush I found the word "Orion" on it followed by 2603606 so I guess that makes sense why nothing was lining up. Man, that thing was disgusting, but at least I know what I have now - 100% certainly not original to that truck.

Ok well the pics you posted I don't see anything except a bracket and a piece of linkage. Sorry but I myself couldn't begin to help you with trans ID by those pictures.

@Mike1 You make a very valid point. It was a long day (I guess night, since I work overnight) and was debating cleaning the schmoo off the trans. Curiosity got the better of me and I went out and made quite a mess. I'll post a picture or two in a second. I'm thinking just getting a press switch that will deliver voltage to the rear lights for now, but 100% a 5 speed is going in. I haven't had the truck very long but that 4 speed sucks.
