Went to wire my electric fuel pump to my ignition where I found that it was burnt up. Replaced it with an aftermarket ignition switch and wiring unit. I found a wiring diagram online that we went off of (will post picture of that below). We also had to alter our alternator wiring because I’m of the new 3G alternator. (1976 truck with a 95’ 302 inside.) we finally got the wiring figured out but we went to try to turn over and it would do absolutely nothing. We thought it was the starter solenoid or the battery so we bumped it from the solenoid and the positive battery post began to spark and smoke. We are at a loss when it comes to what’s next. Some of the wire colors in the wiring harness are different that what’s in the manual so that is also giving us a hard time trying to identify what goes to what. Anyone have any suggestions?
