Your best bet would be to either find another truck to look at in person or to order a shop manual from Motorhaven which should have good wiring diagrams in it.
Depending upon the vehicle and the extent of the damage, it may be more than just reconnecting wires - you may have burned up a fusible link or the ammeter shunt or...? I'd sure recommend a wiring diagram. If you don't want to buy the whole set of manuals, Haynes has the wiring diagram - you might even be able to photocopy it from a library.
