Hey I joined after hitting a dead end trying to find transmission parts for my '82 f150 hoping someone might be able to help.
Its a 3 on the tree truck, trans is an iron case toploader. Door sticker indicates a "C" trans code which when I search for only turns up "ford 3-speed"
I need a tailhousing bushing as the slip yoke has a fair bit of play but have only been able to find parts for t18/19 and np435s
I'm wondering since it was made by ford if it might be the same bushing as a c4 or c6?
This truck is currently my daily so I don't wan't to tear ot down just to test the theory any info would be greatly appreciated
Welcome to the forum from another Oregonian. Can't help with the specifics of the part you need, but try contacting these guys. I've dealt with them many times and recommend them highly:
Not sure where you live in the state, but if close to the People's Republic of Portland, they are definitely worth the trip. It's not too expensive to hire armed guards to escort you around town. When you park, set up a perimeter of Claymore mines and 50 cal machine gun nests. You then stand a reasonable chance of still having your catalytic converter when you get back to your vehicle.
