Hey guys, wondering if there was any progress for the lightning swap in this thread.
I’m looking to do the full lightning drivetrain swap in my 97 F150 4.6 4 x 4
my ‘01 supercab has been “Lightning swapped” for a long long time and it’s still a ton of fun to drive, yet docile enough for teenagers to learn to drive and I highly recommend JJ @ woodbine motorsports (WMS) for tuning…
I’m curious if you’ve got 4x4 and if so what transfer case and trans did you use ?
Hi guys! My names parker, I’ve got a 2001 f150 with the 5.4 triton, I’m looking to swap a built SVT lightning into it. I’m wondering if anyone has any advice
My most important advice would be, and stick to this explicitly, is to immediately give it to me for testing. I will be honest and thorough, and I'll try to have it back... sometime...
No, seriously...

Reason: addition
use your current transmission and transfer case - upgrade internals as needed
which internals is a good idea to upgrade? Cause I seriously thought about picking up a Baumann 4r100 transmission controller. The correct driveshaft and torsion bars. Cross member and swapping in the already beefed up transmission

I did the J-mod on mine
to be honest, I don’t feel the 4r100 is really needed BUT it is your truck

I wanted to do a ported blower and a pulley upgrade. Do you have any supporting mods?
that’s my only concern for the stock tranny.
I’ve also read other have kept the 70 to.. still debating tho

I flog my truck, sometimes I tow with it instead of my powerstroke
my truck is sporting:
6# lower
Jokers Port
filled silencer holes
long tubes
108mm JDM CAI
SCT MAF electronics
midplate spacer
Magnum Powers Big O throttle body
dual H/E’s
Jabsco Bilge Pump for the I/C
JLP street tank

looks like you’ve got all the supporting mods down basically enough besides opening up the block and putting in rods, right.
Right on this information is definitely helpful
Maybe I’ll save the money from the transmission controller put it into a ported blower something
