I need some opinions about having my old grille for my 73 f100 chromed. I have a chroming company close by and they said that it could be chromed.
I like the fact that it would be the original one and would probably would fit better than the ones offered by dennis carpenter.
Any ideas?
I assume you mean the grille shell. I would be very skeptical of how well chrome would work. and it would take nearly as much labor to prep it for chrome as it would to reanodize it. which is what it should have done.
Replacing it with a new one will be by far the cheapest option. and yes, it probably won't fit as well but I've seen a few that were okay. if cost isn't an object have yours restored and properly bright dipped again.
Thanks for the feed back. The price to chrome is $1000.00 with 2 year warranty. I now that the steel one dc offers would be close to same price after shipping.
So that is my options since I have no one close to ga that I know of who can re- anodize
