Just to refresh myself, the '70 grille shells are much shallower than the 71/72 shells. Only the shallower '70 grille inserts fit the shallower '70 shells.
Yeah, unfortunately they do not make an aftermarket replacement for the '71. I know, others fit and I've heard of people using the '71 chrome horizontal bars on the '72s, but it's just not the same. Funny because I see more 71s than either the 70 or 72. Maybe because I own 2 of them (and used to own another) and notice them more. I should look up production numbers some day just for kicks.
i have bought half the resto parts i have on my truck from them, fast shipping no hassles and last load they sent me for free one of those insulated heat sound blocker mats for the floorboard. part number 48-2590 page 79 latest catalog. that was like a 38 dollar gift from them. granted i dropped 200 bucks on my last order. but they are great people no hassles. i like ordering from motorhaven too but they dont stock some of the little stuff i needed. dennis carpenter is a good place too, do a google for him.
Does anyone make the 1970 grill? My 1970 has the 1971 grill and inserts (in awful shape) and I like the 1970 model best of the 67-72 grills...especially with the inserts painted black, that looks sweet...
I know you can't quote a website on this forum but could someone send me an e-mail about this parts catalog website you're talking about? I've ordered from Motorhaven and I like them but I like to keep my options open. Or someone just write down what the *** is and I can fill in the .com
