Electrical problem?
So I open up the door to my 85 ford f250 in6 and cab light comes on try to start it it makes a single click sound and cab light goes off I used a multi meter to see if I'm get power to the wire that powers the truck I get power I go down to the starter and nothing I go open the truck door the light comes on then when I go to start it the cab light goes off anyone have any awnsers?

Remove both battery cables from their battery posts and thoroughly clean the outsides of the battery posts and thoroughly clean the insides of the battery cables. Reattach the cables and make sure they tighten up properly. This is the fix for what you describe the vast majority of the time. If that doesn't fix the problem you have to move farther down the line cleaning connections. The problem could also be a bad battery cable shorting internally.

Sounds like one of your battery cables has failed. Charge your battery (very important) and then run this test to pinpoint the exact location of the failure:
