Hey everyone! My name is Jeremy, and this is my first time on a forum. I’m looking forward to gaining knowledge and information as well as giving some if I can! I have several different models of Ford trucks and I’m currently working on a 97’ 7.5L F-350. It’s a 2WD, dual rear wheel cab & chassis. I just removed the old welding bed to put a rear tank back in the truck as the previous owner removed it So far it seems that tank and its mounting components are like a unicorn! Seeing as this is my first post, I was curious if someone could point me in the right direction within the forum!
Welcome to FTE. Yes, we do have folks that know a little about your truck. For starters, try the Super Duty/Heavy Duty forum. You might also want to try the Miscellaneous forums.
Stop by the Texas state chapter and join them too.
I'm not sure about any differences in the fuel tanks between the C&C and a normal truck. I dont see any seperate listing when I look at the fuel tank options.
Does your truck have the selector valve in the frame rail? If not, adding the rear tank gets more involved.

Neither do I but there are people here that do. I doubt there a difference in fuel tanks but I could be wrong.
No selector valve on the frame rail. That type of fuel system stopped in 1990.
My 96 has a selector valve. Pretty sure all the dual tank trucks have that. Wouldn't be a functional dual tank setup without that I'd think.
Only diesels have electrically driven selector valves. Gas trucks have Fuel Delivery Modules (FDM) in each fuel tank that includes the Pump, check valve, and shuttle valve to keep gas going where it needs to go.

but you have a diesel Brett. they have the fuel selector valve on the frame. gas trucks have a fuel delivery module in the tank.
when the tank is selected, the fuel pump is turned on and the return is also switched to that tank.
