Key won't turn and Trans code

Just got a 2014 6.2L a week ago. Has a P1921-00 code for neutral safety switch and now the key won't turn at all. The sensor just arrived today and id plan on changing it this weekend. The truck has been starting fine since last weekend when we got it, but tonight when heading home I put the key in and it won't even turn to accessory. Tried reseating the trans harness, jiggling the key, lubing the lock cylinder and still can't get it to turn. Also, the steering wheel isn't locking with the key out. Could the key have suddenly got deprogrammed?

You have a mechanical problem with the key cylinder and its mechanism in the column. You don't have a transmission or key problem.

Like others have said, it’s probably the cylinder, but I wonder how old its the battery in the Key ?

The battery in the key has nothing to do with whether the key can turn the cylinder or not.

Weird that it went from working 100% to not working with no other wear or little issues. Two locksmiths wouldn't come out to even look at it because the key wouldn't turn. Ended up getting it towed to the dealership.
