F450 leaking again

My 2022 f450 has been at the dealer for 8 days. For oxygen sensor, (not NOX as it wasn’t in limp mode)

but, oil pan was leaking again when towing. After 8 days they said they put dye in it and don’t see it leaking. I showed up to show them how to fix it. Showed them the leak and wiped it off with my finger.

one of the techs noticed my transfer case seal to my rear driveshaft was leaking really good, I didn’t notice at first. Why would that be leaking, a bad universal causing this? I did not notice this two weeks ago and I inspected it with a fine tooth comb! I had to tell them to fix it as the first guy, put dye in it, and overlooked the pan, and transfer case leak.
Just find the leak at the driveshaft strange as that is usually a sign of bad universal joints or improper balanced drive shaft.

strange but not unheard of in older vehciles due to the hardening of the seal.

I would inspect the seal and the rotating surface the seal rides on for any gooves.

Rear output seal on my transfer case was starting to leak when I bought my F-450 with 113k miles. Changed it and it's been good since without changing anything else. 153k now.

Hi there. Feel free to send us DM with your vehicle's VIN and mileage. We'd be happy to look into this for you.

The rear seal leak is common on these trucks. My 2012 had it replaced twice. It would not surprise me if the one on my f450 starts to leak soon.

I finally got them to replace the oil pan for the 3rd time, and replace the seal at the transfer case.

nothing surprises me with a ford truck anymore, I’m surprised the motor hasn’t blown yet😁

on the fence of getting a duramax or just keeping this one and deleting it fully at 50k miles, egr, dpf and scr. And the ccv which causes oil seal blow outs when the spring inside fails.

pro to keeping it is I get away from the ****ty ford dealers, cons these damn things are built strong but weak seals, and 10 spd longevity issues, heavy towing.
I don’t worry about the fuel system.

But the back pressure from emissions just destroys the engine seals if heavy hauling. No I’m not going to a gas, it would blow up.

Seems like the CCV vent kit would be an option if you are concerned about leaking seals. I have the kit from SPE and it's an easy install and seems to work well.

definitely no question I will be deleting the CCV, and installing the reroute kit, the boost these things make towing heavy weight is just asking to blow out the seals, heck my 2018 model had the front cover and upper pan done at 22k, it’s my dads now and I’m going to delete the ccv on it because it’s got 53k.

GM still uses silicone gaskets, same as ram, but for some reason GM isn’t as prevalent to blow outs like ford is. Out deleted 2011 model gms never had an oil leak except for a seeping lower oil pan. 250k miles. I am just partial to GM because the LML duramax from 2011-2016 you couldn’t destroy if you left the factory tune on it

I have 60K on my 2021 with no leaks yet.

Sometimes push close to 40 psi on the turbo. Seems ok so far. Knock on wood.
