I don't understand why my XLT didn't come with adaptive cruise control. It has the radar installed for the pre-collision system so i believe all the parts are there. Is there something in Forscan that activates it?
More info is needed on your truck. I don't know about all model years, but the 2022 like mine does not have the radar module for collision avoidance. It uses the camera above the rear view mirror. There is a thread already for adding adaptive cruise.

I've got a "24 F250 XLT. Not surprised it doesn't have some of the bells and whistles because I got a somewhat low-optioned truck. But, I assumed since it had the collision control it would use the same radar. I guess not.

Are you sure you have also the radar unit in the bumper, and not just the camera behind the rear view mirror?
As several above have pointed out, you likely DON'T have all the equipment for adaptive cruise, you probably JUST have the camera for collision avoidance. And honestly, I hated even THAT in my wife's '19 - it was ridiculously sensitive even with the sensitivity turned to where it should almost never have gone off. The problem was that if there was ANYTHING on the window in front of the camera (ice, water, bug guts, a bird swooped too close) it would trigger the system and make it throw the alarms. It wouldn't always hit the brakes in those situations, though, because it was a momentary thing.
Having driven a few vehicles with adaptive cruise and lane keeping, they're neat features but I wouldn't want them. Mostly because where I tend to drive don't have clearly-marked lanes, so the lane keeping ends up turning itself off, and because I hate sitting behind someone when the lane next to me is clear - I'll just go around them without breaking my speed.

Agree with you, however our next vehicle purchase those "options" will be mandatory. On my wifes car even with the least sensitivity I am slowed down waaaay before needed with the adaptive cruise control, maybe Ford is better. The lane assist is cool I guess, but honestly i feel like I'm fighting the steering wheel while driving, if it was used everyday maybe that wouldn't happen. And on more than one occasion the lane assist wanted me to swerve into the turn lanes, I assume the sensor is following the lines on the side of the road?
