Thanks, just the article I was looking for! Not too crazy on the cost..heck it was a $300 something option new so, not too crazy on the expense.
Did you buy this van brand new? If not and you want to add VSC you'll pay the price and deal with it---not much choice really.
The best part of the first article it demonstrates buying used parts often times becomes the more expensive way to go. I find, buy and await delivery of new OEM parts, none of this time wasting trips to scrap yards looking for old parts.
IMO, If you want speed control
You would be better off trading your van for one that has it
that would be like haveing a flat tire, so let me just trade in my van...adding cruise to an e-series is a pretty simple upgrade...back in the day dealers would even add it as a dealer installed option

Van was bought used at a great price. Already bought a new steering wheel and once I confirm the correct part # will order the clock spring.

Both very true. VSC is already in the PCM, it only needs enabled via FORScan or a similar program. The master cylinder with factory VSC does have a secondary disable switch pressure activated but if its not present it shouldn't interfere with adding this option.

The steering wheel switches will be very year specific as is the clockspring. RockAuto's catalog or FordPartsGiant would be helpful with part number selection fitting your application.
