Wondering if someone who might have installed this exhaust system with the rear exit would mind posting a couple of pics of the rear end? I'm a little concerned about clearance to the bumper. I am hoping it's the same as what I have now.
I used that kit on my truck, 66 w/352. I also have a rear step bumper, and it did easily clear. I took it to a local exhaust place, they installed it for me, about 4 years back. I think I asked them to also do a crossover pipe. I would guess the kit is designed with enough clearance for either step, or conventional bumper. Just wish I’d had enough foresight to pay them extra to use old style rubber hangers. They used welded type, and I now have a couple holes in my exhaust where the welds rusted through, just one more thing to be corrected.
To anyone that has installed this system, did you have to make any cuts? I was under the impression it would all bolt right up, but the pipes over the axle are causing some confusion. I can't see how it's meant to fit as supplied.

Dodgeyaussie / ibuzzard,
Is there an exhaust system difference between a F100 and F250? Which did you use?

They do say you have to make some cuts for it to fit a short bed truck. I saw a couple of videos on YT where they had to cut some out for the long bed too. I ended up cutting about 5 inches out of one side, and 8 inches out of the other to make it fit right. I'm still going to have to take it to a shop to have them "adjust" the pipes that go over the axle to get the clearances I want.
DA,
If it was mine, I would shorten up the tailpipes a bit (between the axle and the bumper) and add some turn-downs. That way if the truck is running and you are at the tailgate, the exhaust isn't blowing on your legs. I assume you don't have a spare tire under the bed ?
If you do plan to hang a spare under the bed, then you'd likely want to consider re-running the tailpipes to the side, behind each rear tire.

Yeah it ain't finalized yet, I've since replaced that bumper with one that doesn't stick out quite so far as well so they do need to be shortened a bit. Additionally, despite being advertised as a bolt on kit, despite hours of twisting and turning the right tail pipe just doesn't sit where it needs to, so it's going into a local shop to have them bend it to where it needs to be. That's after I sort out a transmission leak.
So I finally got it sorted. I ended up taking it to a local shop to get it aligned correctly and a bunch of hangers installed. Just for ****s and giggles, I asked them how much it would have cost for them to fabricate an exhaust system from scratch and it would have been about the same cost as buying this kit and getting it fitted right. You'd probably end up with a better-looking system too. So food for thought before you pull the trigger and buy this kit from LMC. Check out your local exhaust shops. I did email LMC for some installation tips but they're clueless. They're just the vendor for this kit. Anyway here's the final product. I am not 100% happy with it, but for what it is, it's fine and I can live with it. I'd definitely go the custom route if I did it again.

I've posted a bunch of times that best to check out the local muffler shop before ordering a kit but nobody listens. You'd be surprised that for about the same price you'll get exactly what you want with less hassle, professional welds, crossover, etc. Had my guy turn down the driver side pipe at the spare tire so not seen unless you stick your melon underneath the truck. That way, appears like factory single exhaust. I supplied mufflers and cost $350 for pipes and labor. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post18872351
Yours does look and sound good tho. Glad you got it worked out.
