So i have a 2007 6.0, i recently got a sct x4 tuner for it. Being said i cant marry it/program it to the truck, when going to turn the key off for it to program all electrical shuts off and makes it impossible to program the tuner anyone know what might be causing it, i checked all the fuses and even tried replacing the ignition lock cylinder
IMO need to find out if it’s the tuner or the port. Does a code scanner have the same issue with this OBD port?
The obd looses power instantly when you turn the key off, but when the key is in the run position the tuner works fine and the scanner but when I go to program the tuner you have to turn the key off and it kills it and makes it impossible to pair it
Is it used? If so, it's probably locked to another vehicle or "out of ammo" (number of flashes exceeded).....BTW --- toss the POS in the garbage --- any/all tuners are nothing but NO GOOD for most vehicles -- plus they're all (IMHO) illegal as hell viz a viz state and federal emissions laws.

I'd update the firmware in the tuner, then if it fails again, send the BRICK back to the manufacturer. Those people really shouldn't be monkeying with the PCM/ECM, FICM, etc microcode, tables, etc in the first place...........

it’s not the tuner that’s the issue, it worked fine in my buddy’s truck, it’s the fact that all electrical cuts off as soon as you turn the key off which you need to do to program it properly, his truck the obd dash and such have delayed power after the key turns off as they should for a few minutes while mine cuts off instantly so I’m trying to find out why
So it sounds like the constant power in the OBD port is the issue since this also happens in an inexpensive code reader/scanner not just the tuner. First I would look for a loose wire at the port itself, and possible fuses.
I personally don’t know these circuits well, but perhaps @bismic can shine some light.

Most tuners sold in the public market are 50 state legal. The vast majority aren’t turning off emissions equipment or modifying code to eliminate CELs. Those that were in the past have been sued into submission by the federal bureaucracy.

Ok - if you suspect wiring here's an overview wiring chart and you could pick up a cheap OBD2 breakout box to ascertain the diagnostic port's integrity:
