Maybe call the guys at EarthRoamer? I know they have sold a ton of them to South America per YouTube videos I have seen about them. They build them on F450 chassis I believe.

It will cost about $4k to get it from Panama to Colombia, which is a pain, but perfectly doable. I'm in Argentina at present and there are plenty of US registered vehicles here touring.

So this will a F450 Chassis cab? or a non america bought vehicle?[/QUOTE]

Last I checked, the F450 pickup was diesel only?

OP left out a lot of info in the first post. He was planning on buying a chassis cab with the 7.3 to put a camper on.

I'm not saying he shouldn't do it, but he is in for a world of surprise since it doesn't sound like he every drove a SD of any sort, else he wouldn't be asking if parts on a SD interchange with Rangers.

My wife and I live in the south of France running two holiday homes, but we plan a major change in 2024/5 - we are going to sell up here, buy a truck, and a camper (probably in Montana) and drive from Alaska to Argentina (with a little boat crossing from Panama to Colombia because there are no roads between the two!). It was always going to be a Ford truck as we both love Fords, and have a C-class type campervan with Transit cab at present.
I've been reading up on this for about 18 months now. Our plan is to buy an Arctic Fox truck camper (circa 4,000lbs dry weight) and (probably) a new F450 Crew Cab, chassis cab, gasser and have Sherptek in Oregon fit a custom made bed for the camper with purpose built storage. The size of the camper is driving the size of the truck - my wife wants some comfort so we will probably be loading 6,000lbs into the truck.
So I'm here to find out as much as I can to make sure we make as few mistakes as possible when we finally settle on the exact model and spec! Any advice gratefully received. Looking forward to meeting you all.
