steering columns

Working on a 62 e-pup and switching it to a automatic will a 68-69 steering column fit in a 62?

No, but a 1962 column can be converted to an automatic.
Many will use the manual steering column, and just not have a visual indication of which gear they are in.

up to 67 should fit, or an aftermarket floor shifter, or dash mounted shifter.
