White light is illegal facing rearward and if you're wanting it tied to backup lights or a switch it is in a terrible location. It only has a tiny slit to shine through and I can't imagine a scenario where having a bright white light there instead could offer any benefit over other rear facing white lights in the bumper or below for working or backing up.
I don’t remember seeing one like what you’re asking about but maybe check Amazon or eBay or superbrightleds?
Lights that small probably wouldn’t produce much usable light, beyond just being a marker light tho.
used to have the fire and ice led light bar on an old f150. White leds across the whole width when in reverse…. Was next to no help. But if you really wanted to you could get white LEDs and mount them in the panel that is there. Saw where someone did that for the red LEDs.

It's highly state-dependent. It's not illegal in my state to have auxiliary reverse lights, especially on vehicles that are doing plow work OR working in a dock area. However, it IS illegal to have those lights ON when moving FORWARD on public roads. I don't believe the laws state specifically that they can't be used in reverse on public roads, but it isn't a good idea regardless.

agree...and it looks so much better in red with the tail lights red. I put one on my 24 SRW and love it. don't think the OP is looking for rearward lighting, maybe just a look...???
