Little back story: randomly and intermittently will get a "Diesel Exhaust Filter overloaded, drive to clean" and sometimes followed with a random misfire. If it starts misfiring I shut the truck off, start it back up and It runs fine.
Just got a knocking noise, I believe to be my Cylinder 4 injector bad. Getting codes for Cyl. 4 Contribution balance and Cyl. 4 misfire. If I go in FORScan and disable the #4 injector it the sound mostly stops but almost still sounds like there's a small ticking noise.
Anyone know the cause of this? No blowby, so I don't believe its a rod. Doubt its a spun bearing or anything. Maybe a rocker arm issue? Praying its nothing bad cause I'm supposed to be on a road trip in less than 2 weeks with it
I had an injector knock that would come and go. Never got a check engine light but was finally able to catch it knocking when I could get the IDS on it. Contribution test did not reveal an issue in my case. Started killing injectors till the knock went away. Replaced the injector and no issues since.
