A stock car running mid 15's is nothing to be ashamed of, nor does it kill ther heritage of the mustang. Thats absurd. Who Ford lovers need to be mad at, are people who feel the need to bash on their fellow brothers and sisters for having a 6!

To the nay-sayers... and :thumbdown:

PS, and while on the subject of v6's...I personally have run circles around 4.6 and 5.4 trucks all day long in my 4.2L...ALL DAY

Ford makes a 351 V-10 that went in a mustang concept a few years ago..and yes it was a 351 V-10.

There is too much of a demand for V-6 mustangs. The 6 really ain't that bad, it's a decent motor. My sister had one in her T-bird, except for the blown headgasket at 100k....it ran like a top until we sold it at 150k mi. Didn't burn oil and never gave us trouble. The head gasket was a minor repair.

Plus, the 6 aint as bad as the previous 4 banger and..pretty much any 74ish-86ish Mustang. Sometimes I wonder how they even sold those things. However, it's not Ford's fault they had to have vehicles like that (gas crisis).

Have you seen the new shelby? its supercharged 427 aluminum block with an advertised 725 hp.shelby produced 75 of these,GT500E SuperSnakes.Its a remanufactered '67 fastback.75 fortunate individuals can pick one up for $150,000 and a little change.BTW..its got a 5 speed manual and a Currie 31-spline trac-lock with 3.35 gears.traction bars,four point roll cage,fuelsafe fuel cell,and trunk mount battery.

nothing wrong with wanting to get better gas mileage, while owning a NICE looking car, although my new Taurus SEL can beat v6 stangs... oh well.. lol

I wouldn't buy a mustang with a V6 in it, it would be like putting a 4.2 V6 in a F250...You would have to modify it to be nice. If someone gave me a new mustang with a V6, I'd drop a supercharged 5.4 in it, and some 3.73's.

Some ricer boy out there is gonna beat a new V6 mustang and tell everyone he smoked a brand new GT...

a new V6 mustang beating a 80's GT isnt saying much...The technology of today beating the technology of 20 years ago...

Again, now I know you guys haven't driven one. From Car and Driver's road test of a V6 Automatic Coupe

Zero to 60 mph: 6.9 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 19.0 sec
Street start, 5-60 mph: 7.2 sec
Standing 1/4-mile: 15.3 sec @ 91 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 113 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 189 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.79 g
EPA fuel economy, city driving: 19 mpg
C/D-observed fuel economy: 21 mpg

I still don't see where a 6 cyl motor is an insult to the 'stang's 'heritage'. 6 cyl motors were available from day one in 1964.
