6.0 problem: Dies while driving
Ive got a late 2004 f350 6.0, almost bone stock minus an economy tune on a ficmrepair.com ultimate FICM. Still got the EGR and all.
Heres the problem: Sometimes when cruising between 40 and 65mph, the engine will cutoff. I will coast to a stop and crank it over and it starts back up after usually one try, at most two, nothing terrible. Im not loaded with a trailer or under hard acceleration but it does seem to happen under light throttle, and maybe happens less while in tow haul mode(I tried this to keep the rpms higher and maybe keep the hpop spinning faster), though that may be a coincidence. What are y'alls opinions?
I was thinking my hpop might be struggling due to the fact that I usually have to wait 10 or so seconds after key-on to start, and the fact that the truck starts worse during the summer than the winter, but has no problem starting after it is up to temp. Other theories are cam or crank position sensors, or a fuel starvation/supply issue.
Any help is appriciated.
