Is it true they are made by wix? The motorcrafts are like $25 a pop now. If the micro guards are truly made by wix and of the same quality I think I might switch to these to save some money
aren’t they like same price as motorcraft or more
just looking for a way to save a little money but definitely not gonna do it if it is sacrificing quality….. I rack the miles up I’ve been putting over 1000 miles a week on my truck so my 5000 mile oil change interval comes quickly
Oh, I have no idea how they compare in price. I have family in the parts business so get good deals but that also means I don’t price check. They always recommended WIX so I’ve used those for 25 years now on everything.
I’m sure plenty would work fine. I won’t use Fram though. Yep, I’m a Fram hater snob.
I use baldwin but got them cheap...they are expensive now too. seems 20-25 is the going rate for oil filters. I'm about to try a donaldson because they are supposed to filter out soot and what not keeping the oil cleaner longer. we'll see.
I went Purolator on my last purchase of 4, after somebody, I think it was Kwikordead, anywho, no issues and they were like $9 each. If you put on 1000 miles a week bump your interval to something like 10-12 k. There are several that use that mileage or more with no issues.

This. After the price for the Motorcraft went nuts at wallyworld, found the Purolator on Amazon for $9 and went with those.

I tow 10-15k for half of that mileage so it makes me worried to go longer oil change intervals
If semi's changed oil that often nothing would get anywhere, just saying. If your road towing and not hauling on logging roads I say your fine. I know I would do that with my rig.

yes, but a semi hold substantially more oil like four or five times as much as one of our trucks
Agreed, but still abused and once any of it is contaminated, it all is. Your truck, your time and your money the decision when to change is all yours. Good luck.

and most use ByPass oil filters, similar to what I have on my truck
Blackstone told me to run 2k more miles at 4950 miles, I'm in Utah now, when I get back home, it will be 7200ish miles on oil.... will send in a sample, but change out to this because I have two more trips back up there.
