Greetings,
I am the proud owner of a new to me 2000 excursion. I would like to discover all the options that were ordered by the origional purchaser. Are the codes stamped into a plate on the body somewhere? I know that other car companies do this and the procedure is easy to determin tall the options. I asked the dealer and he looked at me like I had three heads. Here is what I know so far: 2000 Excursion, V10, Limited, No sunroof. My main concern is to know what axel ratio was ordered to determine my max towing? But I really want to know everything ordered.
Your axle codes are on the driver's side door jamb. On that data plate. Although, my codes aren't there . If yours aren't either, you'll have to go crawlin' underneath. I found the ratio's easier on the front axle. 3.73 denotes well...3.73.'s and 4.30's ....yada yada BUT if you have an L where the decimal point should be then you have the LS unit installed.
What others options do you know about that you are looking to see if you have?
Thanks for the information. I will crawl under and look on my axel to see what unit I have on my 4x4X.
I was hoping that Ford would be similar to PORSCHE. With PORSCHE there is a plate in the back that lists all the factory build options. This can be tracked to the original build sheets on file in Germany. It makes it nice when you are doing research for restoration purposes.
>Did you spot the resonator and skinny tailpipe on it?
Yup.
>Check out ebay. There's a Paxton supercharged 5.4 Excursion
>up for sale. It looks like a Kenwood project vehicle.
>Wonder why they didn't buy a V10 to tinker with?
I saw it and wondered the same thing...Nice looking truck though!
