A friend of mine has a business that specializes in the Ford 6.7 engine. That's where the rods came from. He commented that the new rod is much stronger then the old one.
The new rod/combo can take a lot more abuse the the old stuff.

I've heard of the forged and cast terms in manufacturing so is the old cast and the new forged? I don't know but I don't notice a line down the center of the new rod.... thanks...

Yes, I noticed that as well. The rod cap is "cracked" like a powder forged rod but the lack of any mold parting lines is unexpected. Maybe its the result of a better manufacturing process or some extra machining process.

Sintered rods are strong, but forged are stronger and sintered have other pluses too. Sintered are the main stay now, forged are for special applications

Correct. The new rods are not Carrillo's but are still a huge improvement over the old rods.
