Loose rearend
So when I hit a bump in the road my whole truck gets real loose with the rear end kicking to the side. I know I need shocks but what else should I check. It’s bad enough it made me switch lanes the other day. Trucks an 09 long bed

Check the U bolt nuts, they could be loose, especially if a lift block was installed. Check the leaf springs for a broken leaf, check the bolts that hold the leaf springs to the hanger.
Also, check the pressure in your tires. Some guys put load range E tires on and think they need 80 psi of air. The proper inflation pressures are on the door jamb sticker.

More than likely, especially if they are worn so bad that the pressure is gone. Shocks are probably the most overlooked suspension issue. Many people don't know that they are wear items and need to be replaced on occasion.
