A new experience for me today. My trashcan was still in the driveway as I was backing in. As usual, the rear sensors were beeping and I didn't slow down because I knew I wouldn't hit the trashcan. Suddenly the truck came to an abrupt stop and a red screen popped up on the dash display saying emergency reverse braking. I back in regularly with the sensors beeping I've never had the truck come to an automatic stop. Wish I knew more about how this works.

My 2021 f150 does it too. Shocking the first time it happened.
I am backing up in tight spaces fairly often so I have had to turn it off. Fortunately it's one of the few settings that stays off. However now, Everytime I put truck in reverse it chimes repeatedly and screen says 'rear parking assist disabled'. Omg, I KNOW it's friggen disabled! 🙄
I have a real love/hate relationship with my truck.

I came on here to find out about this reverse chime thing. Is there a way to turn it off? I get it if it chimes when there is something in the way, but when there is NOTHING and it just continually beeps it's annoying as hell! It's not beeping just inside the truck, it has an audible outside beep - like a fire truck has when it's backing. Thanks!
