24 reverse sensor/ no 360 camera

As title states 2024 f350 KR 900 miles on the odo and get a rear sensor fault. Get home and no cameras work when reversing just blue screen.

24 hrs prior to this happening the truck was ceramic coated. FORScan brings up a lot of dtc’s from image processing module A. I logged them and the other telemetry and ABS dtcs without erasing.

truck is going to dealer today.

Similar issue found on here but unsure how to attach the link.

Will update as information is obtained.

Edit: lane keep and adaptive cruise still functions correctly

2nd update: dealer called and said Ford engineering sent an automated message flagging the order of a new camera.

Dealer got them on the phone and they said they are aware of the issue and believe it to be a tailgate park sensor module.

The new part is on order but arrival is TBD. Picking truck up today and will drive it until they have the parts.

To be continued.

Update. Module finally arrived.

Dealer went to install new reverse module and the techs were unable to program new module

A call to ford engineering was made late yesterday to hopefully get an answer.

Dealer states tailgate harness is faulty. IIRC in another thread the tailgate harness is not available. Production only.
So I’m going to dealer today to talk with the tech about his diagnosis.
Then I will be contacting ford and putting more pressure on them and communicating my concerns and frustrations, mainly because it has had a camera issue since January.

Heck maybe I can get the dealer to take a harness off a truck in the lot if they have a higher trim model in stock. Wish me luck. I’ll report back when I know more.

Edit: truck only has approx 4500 miles on it now

Tailgate harness contains the coax cable for the module. The coax cable has some corrosion due to water intrusion.

The part was ordered with ford saying they will priority rush this part with possibility of pulling off the assembly line asap.

Ford engineering did state this is only the 2nd truck from the 24 model year that has this issue

we will see. Talk is cheap. I’ll update when the time comes.

Yes it was corrected with a new coax cable that they overlay the harness with. Apparently in 2024 we still use coax for communication to the module.

Ford engineering states the cable has water intrusion problems and the cable resolved my bricked tailgate camera.

That’s great news! Did they mention about what location the water intrusion was happening?

My 2024 F350 Platinum has been at the dealer for 3 weeks looking for the cause of my Parking Sensor Fault. They said they systematically removed each camera (a bunch of them) and reinstalled looking for any moisture issues or bad wiring. They said they were talking to Ford about this and concluded it was the tailgate camera wiring harness. I now have to wait 4 days for them to get the new part, then another for install, which will be a month in total! I am hoping they are right.

That will be quick compared to my 4 months to get a module that didn’t fix it, then another 4 months to get the cable that overlays the harness. Best of luck to you.

Did they say what harness was used to overlay
had my tailgate off all winter as it’s a work truck and had a salter in it. Put the plugs on it ford sent with truck plug tailgate in and boom no camera dealer wants 6k for a harness as they are stating it’s corroded truck only has 47k so now bc they. Played with it every time I go intro reverse truck dings at me says rear park aid unavailable see manual told the dealer this is bs now and stated that’s bc I need a new harness tech was saying I need a coax repair end but ford doesn’t make it

The one they overlayed was the coax cable. I was not given a part number but it was only the coax that was overlayed. After the repair a recall was issued on the reverse/ park aid system.

I have not had the recall done mainly due to the truck working fine and maybe I can use it later on if the system bricks out again. Hope this helps
