I thought I saw somewhere that there was a weather strip with metal in the channel that worked for the doors. Might have been a different make/application, but it worked much better than the glue on strip.
Don’t remember any specific discussions myself. But I’d be interested to hear what others have done about that.
I do remember reading a lot of times in the past where people have used the ‘90 and newer door seals, including the secondary seal, to quiet things down a bit.
But hadn’t heard anything specifically about metal reinforced ones. Unless you mean that universal style that uses the metal u-channel to clamp to the edge of the door opening?
Maybe that's what I'm thinking about. That is still a glue on application though, right? It's been a lot of years since I've owned a rig with glue on weather strip and have PTSD over the pain in the *** process and lifespan.
