if it's a brand new truck, you can access from inside and you can pull them in until the tabs lock...just make sure the seal on the outside doesn't roll or get pinched or else it will continue to leak...if it's an older truck, maybe the seal is compromised and needs to be replaced...
it's brand new. i don't even know if they are leaking. i will take a look
well I had the issue on my 24 so that's why I mentioned above if it were new how to resolve the issue if same as mine...I've worked on and around cars for 38 years so as soon as I traced it to the back, I knew right where to look...I found my own leak in under 15 minutes, in the dark with only a flashlight. Dealer was shocked when I showed them the issue both what it was and that I found it. I did take it to them to document, repair and dry...no issues since.

Any pictures as to exactly where to look? I'd like to have a quick look before I take possession.....

Have the dealer check and water test...but you can look down between the cab and headboard on both sides...straight down with a good flashlight and you just have to know what to look for to tell if they are installed all the way ...you can look at the rear cab of a cab & chassis and you'll clearly see what they are, how they work and if installed properly, what they look like...
my vents are snapped all the way in. i didn't do a water test. maybe i will.
there is a nice foam pad against the rear of the cab covering everything behind the seats. it makes it somewhat of a pain to see the vents
I went round and round with cab vent leaks on my 22. The third time they pulled to bed to replace the vents I made them install them with body seam sealer. If the vents ever break they will have to be cut out and ground down to the original body. Those vents are a **** poor design!
