I’m having a hard time figuring out what’s wrong with my rear abs in my 1992 f250 7.3 and to get more information I need to feed the codes. This is where my issue is, I have searched the engine bay through and through and can’t find the EEC-IV connector. I have looked under the dash and found a connector similar but i don’t know if it’s correct. ( I have attached a photo of said connector) If you have anything that could help that would be greatly appreciated!
yes it is Bart. the IDI does not have a diagnostics so it is only for the E4OD trans.
but i am not sure about ABS on the 92 trucks if they have diagnostics or not.
That's the Seat Belt Warning/Hedlught Warning Chime connector. Someone didn't like the sound and pulled it. Chime is still probably up under there if you want it working again, just plug it in.
RABS codes are retrieved by grounding the single female connector hanging off the harness just above the parking brake mechanism. Ground with a jumper, turn on key, read flashes of RABS indicator on dash. There is also a round 2 pin connector near hood hinge in driver's side engine compartment that is in parallel with the RABS sensor on the rear differential. This allows you to verify wiring all the way back to the sensor and how many ohms the sensor is. I apologize for not having specs at hand right now, but codes and sensor resistance can be found easily online or on this site. Codes are the key to fixing RABS, system is quite simple.
