I have a 1998 Ford ranger with a 3.0 engine. I have intermittent heat. I have a new radiator, water pump, thermostat, and have flushed the engine and heater core. Sometimes the heater hoses are hot after 30 minutes of driving and sometimes they are cold. The heater valve seems to be working. Any ideas?
As Charlie suggested, a heater core is possible.
It is also possible you need to “burp” the system.
You changed a bunch of components & sometimes it is difficult to get all the air out.
Most people don’t have the equipment to pressure bleed the system & just fill-n-chill.
If you don’t get all the air out you will have pockets that can prevent adequate flow.
HOW TRUE, in todays world it's best to fill using the vacuum systems out for this purpose such as https://www.harborfreight.com/automo...kit-64985.html all one needs is a air compressor ,and some time. follow the instructions, no air bound system
