Windshield gasket/seal?
Windshield gasket/seal?
What is the correct term for the rubber "seal" that goes around the windshield? Trying to find new one. Also is it the same as newer F250's? Do auto glass shops put new one's on when they replace a windshield?
Also mine currently has a decent gap between it and the windshield frame. Should there be a gap? Seems like there shouldn't be.
Thanks.

The "gasket" is part of the windshield when new. I've never seen it otherwise. Mine has been replaced a couple times because of rock chips. The same windshield fits 2000 - 2005 Super Duty's and you can even get the one with the "Super Duty" logo.

Thanks to both of you.
Anyone know if there is supposed to be a gap b/t the molding and frame? Seems like there shouldn't be, but maybe it's there to drain water? Not sure if mine is on correctly, because there is a gap all the way around.

They do shrink when they age, do you have any pics? The windshield molding gets installed in the windshield prior to the windshield install. Although a windshield can be pulled and re-used, it's risky, and the success rate is low. The molding comes with the new windshield.
