Looking for a little guidance from the group. I have a 2015 F350 crew Platinum. I am bumper pulling a new US CARGO PHANTOM 32-foot enclosed race trailer. The trailer has a spread triple axle . Currently I am running airbags and using a Bulletproof drop hitch.
We are hauling our land speed race car, golf cart, extra transmission, jacks, jack stands, tools and extra parts. The trailer pulls ok, but it seems like the front of my truck floats a little and sometimes the ride is really bumpy. I have been thinking about getting a Bulletproof
weight transferring hitch system and still using my airbags if needed. Does anyone have experience with these bigger race trailers and set ups? Any info is greatly appreciated.
Here is a picture of my set up. Thanks
Have you scaled the truck and truck trailer combo to see an exactly what and where your weights are? That would be my first step in the decision making process. A truckstop CAT scale or similar with separate scale pads for steer, drive and trailer axles is ideal and fairly cheap for this.
A weight distribution hitch is a must on a trailer that size with a single rear wheel. I can pull a 10k bumper pull with my OBS single rear wheel F350 and a WDH is a must. The back squats almost 3" with 1300lbs on the ball. My dually just needs a ball and 30-40# in the airbags no WDH necessary.
14k+ on a bumper is dually territory if you want stress free towing.
A weight distributing hitch rated for the GVWR of your trailer would almost definately help by shifting some of the weight back to the front tires. Your problem may be limited selection... I'm guessing those are 6K axles and there are not a lot of weight distributing hitches out there for that weight. I'm not seeing a lot for choices for the new 14K intech I have on order. I've been using an equalizer for almost 20 years and it works well, I will probably get their 14K version when the trailer gets here. I never heard of bulletproof, just looked at their website and their medium system only goes up to 10K which I suspect you are north of that.

Good looking rig. First you need to scale your set-up; figure out how much tongue weight you have. It is totally possible that you might solve all your issues by re-arranging your load to where you have 10-15% of your gross trailer eight on the tongue. If your front feels so light, you might have way more tongtue weight than necessary. Good luck.
