My right sun visor had this terrible habit of wandering around when driving....it drove me crazy.
I thought about just putting velcro to hold it in place, but thats kind of a mickey mouse fix.
I found these visor holders at LMC, they're for a 72 chevy truck.
I bought some 1/4" alum round rod and was able to insert them into the ends of the visors.
Problem fixed and I think it looks good too. Wandering visor Visor holders from LMC Alum round rod. About 10" long Inserted into the visor. End result.
you're right John... I ordered two thinking that what I needed but there are two in one set... dumb and old
they cancelled my orig order and I reordered for the 12.95 and 8 bucks shipping
my sun visor problem isn’t wandering, it’s rattling against the cab. I tried Velcro which worked for a bit, but hit a bump and the visor comes loose. I’m gonna do this too. Thx for posting!
That is a nice fix but it is a chevy part in a Ford.
FYI the 87> Ford pickup's use the same setup, clip screwed to the roof panel and the rod on the end that fits into it.
On the 80 - 86 trucks the fix is to get the whole setup from the 87> truck and all we need to do is drill for the clip.

My sun visors have "wondered" so far they are nowhere to be found. I have thought from time to time about replacing them but haven't yet. My biggest problem driving into the sun is when the sun light is reflected up from the hood right into my face. Visors wouldn't help in that case. I never experience this probable with a modern vehicle, but certainly do with my truck. I keep a pair of the ultra dark glasses that you get to protect your dilated eyes after an eye exam in the truck for just such conditions. I usually have to stop driving and wait until the angle of the reflected light is more favorable.
Could you forgo the aluminum rods and just use the holders on the visors themselves by moving the holders further outboard so that they engage with the visors only not rods? Wonder if that’s how they were designed originally? As I believe the 72 Chevy truck was just a plain visor, no rods on the inboard side?

If you look closely at the visors in jniolon post, the visors do have a rod sticking out. And the retaining brackets are hooked for a rod to fit into them.
Originally that's what I wanted, just something that I could hook the visors onto. In my Google search for sun visor brackets I came across these and wondered if I could insert some rods into the end of the visors. So that's the way I went with them.
