4.6L mpg question?

4.6L mpg question?
I went on a lil trip today, when we started the trip computer showed 14.1 avg mpg. 300+ miles later it showed over 17mpg, how often does the trip update it self? It seemed like every 20-30 mins or so? I know these are not real accurate but how close +/- 2-3 mpg?

4.6 Mpg
I avgrage between 15 to 15.5 mpg in town & around 19 TO 20 mpg when i made a trip to Oalkhoma City To see family ealier in the year W/ MY 4.6 .
I ocassionly have to go to Parts of East Arkansas & North , Ms & other parts of W. & Middle Tn for parts & i avarage some where between 19 to 20 MPG Then also .
No complaints here w/ My 4.6 Smallblock what a little powerhouse
