How do I reset the "Average MPG" caluclator?
I have a 2003 F250 4X4 PSD.
How do I reset the "Average MPG" caluclator?
I asked because I have doubts that it is functioning properly.
Example:
Zero load, high-way driving.... the display shows 14.4mpg.
Zero load, in-town driving... the display shows 14.mpg.
1,000 lbs in the truck, pulling 4,000 lbs on the high-way for 600 miles..... the display shows 14.2mpg.
and since I've returned from the trip mentioned above with the 5K of load, it has not changed from displaying 14.2mpg.... even though I am back to high-way driving with zero load... been through 6 -8 tanks of fuel.
Ideas?

The average mpg is just that, the average mpg since the last time it was reset. What you are seeing on the display is the average mpg you have gotten over the last 6-8 tanks not what you are averaging at any particular time.
