IPR rebuild vs replace

More than 12 years ago I rebuilt my IPR because of some typical slow starting when hot symptoms. The rebuild solved the problem and it has been fine for a long time. I have recently noticed a longer than normal crank time and I think it is time to look at the IPR again. Nothing crazy but something I have noticed. Ya know how it is. You just notice things about your truck when there are small changes.

I am debating on rebuilding it again or just replacing it. I could buy a new one and rebuild this one as a spare but I already have a spare if I needed it. It is not new either so I don’t see a reason to swap it in.

thoughts?

You mean re-seal, as it's impossible to rebuild an IPR with such low tolerance in the bore, if it were me and my truck just spend the extra $$ on a new FoMoCo part and reseal both spares and have them there just for piece of mind.

IPR can last over 500k
once the tiny bore gets some scores, it no longer going to work when hot
when this happens is random
price on it is always a fun one to choose
