Towing ability

I am considering the purchase of a used (probably 19 or 20) Ranger Supercrew. I've never had a vehicle with a 4 cylinder engine + the Ecoboost engine. My understanding is that it is rated to tow up to 7,500 lbs. So I am just wondering about others experience? Does it live up to it's billing?

I have absolutely no problems towing with my 2021 super crew. Oh btw,Tom , nice COE.

I’ve had my 19 Ranger for about seven months now and only towed once. Never noticed the trailer behind me but that lane assist thing tried to kill me while towing on a sharp curve. I had only had the truck a week at that point and have never had that tech before. I don’t tow a lot and this is my first turbo vehicle and I see why they’re popular for towing even if they drink as much as a V8. Be sure to look into the spark plug changes on them and the trans filter and fluid change before deciding to buy

Filter & plugs

Are you recommending that the plugs and filters need to be updated?

The plugs are apparently known to mess up the threads requiring new heads if not done properly but ford has changed the procedure a few times on how to replace them. The 10 speed is apparently sensitive to filter and fluid change being done on time and is expensive to have done but has no drain plug so very high chance of a mess in the drive way along with burning your hand to check fluid levels after refill.
