CP4 Failure rate.
I recently bought a 2014 King Ranch Dually and a S&S DPK. Plan is if Pump fails I'll install the S&S pump. My second question is has anybody on the forum had a CP4 failure with the DPK installed and did it save the fuel system as intended? I have been going through the threads on the CP4 and neither question has been answered.

the answer about survivability of the fuel system upon co4 failure if you have a DPK depends entirely on thick kit you have. You must have the gen2 s&s DPK for hours of survivability . S&S had a video in which they blew up a cp4 the. Installed it …rode around for hours and no damage to injectors .
My opinion is the SPE kit could be just as robust if there were a return filter that could hold more grams of fragments. The SPE kit I bought and did not install..has a screen with a surface area about the size of a fine…that will quickly clog up.
all the gen1 kits suffer from short pathways in the pump bearing and injector route divide which results in clogging of the pathway allowing particles to take their original route thus blowing up injectors and many have said I have a 10k repair bill and I had a DPK, but it was a gen1 DPK.
sound plan if you blow a cp4, put in a dcr.
and use all good preventive maint practices..high frequency filter changes, water drains, correct additives depending on environment.

and no one will
lawyers would love to get a hold of that number.
