I have a 22 7.3 gasser. Starting this fall, when the temperature is somewhere around 25 degrees or less, the truck will not start.
I have taken it to the dealer twice, first time "could not duplicate", second time they replaced the battery. That was maybe 2 weeks ago.
Now its -15 where I am at in Iowa and the damn thing won't start. Battery seems good. Truck just cranks until it times out. When it's a little warmer, it will eventually start with rough idle and RPMs going up and down for a couple of minutes.
Has anyone else seen this issue? I have been searching here but haven't found anything useful.

Thanks for your help.
If the engine turns over then it is NOT the battery, dealer tech was STUPID!
If it cranks and doesn't start, then either there is no spark, or no fuel being injected as it should be.
I would find a different dealer to take it to.

Not necessarily, I have had multiple fords with gas engines that if the battery was weak it took all the juice to crank and didn’t spin fast enough to start and or didn’t have any left over for spark. It would come on slow enough that after the battery was replaced you wondered why you waited so long.

Not on the truck in question, the PCM will not allow the starter to engage unless there is sufficient amps to start the engine.
And, it has that, he said it cranks until it times out, plenty of battery power.

You might be right on that, these were older ones that did not have all this stuff.

I personally think it's a fuel issue. Currently waiting for a tow. Might be a while with all the cars off the roads the last few days.
Can you prove you are from the Ford Motor Company?
Yes, @Ford Motor Company is the ford forum rep, I have given them my info on past repair issues and they have hooked me up with a Ford customer rep and helped get my issue handled faster.
They are who they say they are.
Send them a message with your truck and dealer info.
