Call various local Ford dealerships and see if they offer a mobile service for that type of repair. I had a local dealership send a technician to my house when I had my 20E07 recall done.
Just going off what the service advisor said, he made is seem as it was the government.
Service writers are nothing more than secretaries, most of them don't know Jack Schit. My old dealer went thru them like candy. When the tech connects to Ford's network, its strictly for diagnostic and other service items like reprogramming.
That’s unfortunate. North west Canada here and I called Monday morning, dropped off the next day and had parts ordered that day. Two days for the parts, 1 day for the repair and picked it up Friday morning.
Don't feel bad... bought my 23 new on Dec 2nd. When I bought it new off the lot it had a piece of rubber seal that goes in-between the bumper, grill, and fender that kept popping out at interstate speeds. Dealer orders the part along with my bedcover and all-weather mats. Almost a month later dealer gets the rubber part and called me for service. They put it on and sent me on my way. Mind you only have 800 miles on it at that time. Not to mention they said my bedcover was in but really wasn't and it's on a backorder. Floor mats came in though.
Got the truck home and was wiping greasy fingerprints off the grill and noticed the grill was loose on the right bottom corner. Called the dealer and they said bring it back up and we'll check it. Service manager comes to get me and says I need to show you something. So, I walked back with him, and he says this is why it's loose.
The grill attaches to the headlight with a plastic tab on the headlight. The technician broke that tab off my headlight and sent me home without saying anything to me. Not only that but he put a small probably a little less than 1/2" scratch in the top of the fender all the way down to the metal. Didn't tell anyone. I mean I guess it could've been an accident and I get that too so what do you do lol.
The headlight is on nationwide back order of course with 0 available so the Service Manager is calling his rep and trying to get something quick. It doesn't affect anything, and you really can't tell unless you see that corner poked out.
They are going to try a professional paint guy that does touchups for the paint and if I'm not happy they'll paint the fender for me... which I wouldn't want sighhhh... I hate the thoughts of getting a fender sprayed because it wouldn't match 100% and who knows how it'd hold up in the future. Also found a factory paint defect in the rear driver door that you can't see or feel unless the light hits it just right and you're looking down the side of the truck. Gonna leave that alone too since I don't want a door painted.

What luck lol
The paint on these new trucks is so thin it's ridiculous. You look at the clear coat and you can scratch through into the paint.
The lane assist went out in my 2021 GMC about 6 months ago. Dealer claims they are still waiting on parts. Yet new GMC trucks are still being built with lane assist.
Figure that one out

With the technology they have these days, they can match it EXACTLY. When I swapped out the grill on my truck after it was between 5-7 y/o, the guy came out with a computerized device and attached it to my truck, waited a few secs and he said "Got it" and went back inside as he explained the tool he used. The new grill and new paint matched the 5-7 y/o paint perfectly. I'd rather have it painted than touched up as unless it's done by a pro, chances are you'll be able to tell.
