I want to know if what I see will work on my 64. The bumper looks like the same style as mine.
Anybody know where to get those black bumper protectors/steps? Were they an option or aftermarket and who sells them? I didn't find them online. They seem to mount between the bumper bolts. Any info?
I have a wrap-around rear bumper from the era. It’s quite flat, and textured like diamond plate, but is steel and painted. Easy to climb/stand on. But, for an even lower step, so that we can more easily climb into our tall camper shell that we converted into a weekend camper, I bought one of the folding steps that goes into the receiver hitch. We like it.
For the front bumper, I tracked down a guy that bought the rights to produce a folding license plate step, (Fold-A-Way) - a somewhat popular period accessory for trucks/vans from the 70’s/80’s/90’s
I believe he’s now also gone belly-up, a casualty of the recent pandemic, but there’s a photo in my gallery. Sometimes found on eBay.
