Running boards aren't lining up, bent/tweeted mounts. Need measurements. from center hole of front cab mount to center hole front running board. And top of cab mount to top of running board mount.
What year of truck do you have? I have a '56, and my running boards do not line up well with the mounts either. I usually have to do quite a bit of twisting the mounts to get the holes to line up with a big crescent wrench. I really believe my problem is the front sheet metal such as the fenders, radiator mount/saddle, upper radiator valance, and the panels behind the headlights or air delectors needs to be loosened up and aligned better. It was done by a PO. I can get my running boards on, I have to twist on the brackets some to get all the holes to line up. It's a battle. But once they are on they look good. I find if you are doing a lot of work under the truck, taking off the running boards gives you more clearance to slide around under the truck with a creeper. Someday maybe I can try to align it all. If I ever have it all apart.
That looks like a fuel tank mount? On a 53 to 55 left side. Your cab is not mounted, my 55 running boards were the last part I mounted when I replaced my fuel tank. They did not line up at all until I loosened my tank straps and four bolts front and rear that the running board mounts to. I also installed rubber anti chafe material. That may have caused some of the alignment issues. But kept every thing loose! And mounted it up. It all came together and lines up with the front and rear fender. I was amazed, faught with that for days. I really dont feel a measurement will help you. Unless you have something really out of wak. I thought for a year my frame was tweaked. But it’s not. A alignment rig will tell you if your frame is bent. These old trucks, most have been thru a lot. Especially the oil field trucks. And that’s what I have an old oil field truck. I realized every thing was okay when my front and rear fender mount holes lined up perfectly with the running boards.AJ
that’s your battery mount on the right side my mistake it’s a 56.
