Hey everyone, I'm trying to identify the wiring on a later model C6. Pretty sure the red with blue are the neutral safety switch. Not sure if polarity matters. The others should be a 12v feed and back up lamp. Anyone have a diagram or know which is which?
Just use your OHM meter. The start circuit makes connection to the "S" terminal on the start relay in Park and Neutral the backup only works in Reverse. all these stars will only line up in the truck if you have the correct NSS switch and your steering column and manual lever in the transmission came from the same vehicle.

What constitues a "later model" C6 in this case? How late?

Correct, NSS and not polarity sensitive.

This might depend on what year it's from. Is it a standard looking NSS like you would have had in, for example, a '78 truck? Mounted to the side of the trans at the shift rod?
Your truck come with an auto? Then the NSS was on the steering column?
Either way, here again they are not polarity sensitve. It helps to know which way the power is going of course, but it's probably not critical.
I'll see if I can find the right diagram, and while it might not matter, it still would help if you know what year the trans is.
Thanks Paul, I wired them based on a comment earlier stating the white wire was the 12v source but since neither pair is polarity sensitive I think we're good. Won't know until I get the rest of the truck wired up.
