Wanted to see if anyone knows of other options for 1996 f150 302: the two I have found (commonly recommended on this forum) are the bronco grave yard's Extreme Duty Poly Motor Mounts ($115 .. sold out of course...) and the AutoFab mounts (https://autofab.com/product/80-96-fo...-motor-mounts/) at $380 which feels like a ridiculous price
Cannot find any other poly motor mounts on google or on the forum ... but they must exist?? ...hopefully for less than $380!!
I have 2 experience with polyurethane mounts, and they were both negative.
Automotive polyurethane is very stiff, about the durometer of a 5 gallon bucket or a hockey puck. They also squeak. It transfers vibrations and noises very well.
I'm not sure what application you're using them for, but I would suggest sticking with rubber mounts, so you can listen to your radio while driving.
What Proto said. Unless your building a hot rod or trail rig, I would avoid them. Have had them on a Mustang and there is a noticable difference in vibration. Whatever you do don't get a poly transmission mount, that is much worse.
Those look like well made motor mounts and would probably be great for the right build. I'm not sure they are necessary for a stock or nearly stock truck. The ones I have on a warmed over Mustang are similar.
I used the Bronco Graveyard Poly motor mounts on my truck, and have no complaints. (I realize that doesn't help with them being sold out... just saying I don't find poly mounts to be to harsh or cause too many vibrations.)
